What we believe

Scouts is an international organization that is dedicated to building character in young boys and girls, developing responsible citizenship, personal fitness and leadership. Through a broad range of activities, Scouts promote a system of values and life skills which can help prepare them for success in college and in the world beyond. The activities of scouts include hiking and camping, leading discussions and adventures, and learning life-long skills such as first aid, knot skills, map reading, and financial management. Scouts also participate in service projects for the benefit of others, developing a sense of selflessness and civic responsibility. Participation in Scouts is a great way for students to build their resumes and demonstrate to universities their commitment to self-improvement, responsibility and leadership.
Scouts is committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all participants, in accordance with the core values listed in the Scout Oath, Scout Law and The Outdoor Code, where bullying and harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
The Scouts in our troop have shown tremendous growth in their time with us, which is reflected in their improved academics, positive relationships with others, and greater character development. We are proud of all their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and thrive.
If you're still unsure of the benefits of Scouting, take a look at the Tufts University study on Scouting. This study found that those who participated in Scouting programs show more leadership abilities, better problem-solving skills, and an increased sense of personal responsibility, compared to those who did not participate in such programs.
Scoutmaster Angela Chiu is our Scoutmaster for the girls troop (202-G). She is a mother of 3 and enjoys camping and the outdoors.
Assistant Scoutmaster Alice Wang has joined Troop 202-G with her daughter. She has scouting experience and will be a great asset to our team.
